Are Zen Hemp Health Products Legal?
YES. Our Full Spectrum, Total Plant Complex, Hemp Derived Products are legal in all states in the U.S. – and most countries – because they are derived from Cannabis Sativa L. containing less than 0.3% THC (“Hemp”). Any products derived from cannabis containing more than 0.3% THC are classified as marijuana, which is a controlled substance regulated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) under the Federal Controlled Substances Act (CSA).
Products made from “Hemp” containing less than 0.3% THC are excluded from DEA jurisdiction and are instead regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as whole food products or dietary/nutritional supplements.
Medical marijuana, however, contains much higher levels of THC (the psychoactive component in cannabis) and is only legal in certain states (even then, it is still illegal under Federal Law). To obtain medical marijuana, you must have a prescription or permit, or reside in a state where it is legal under state law.
